Race Engineer is one of the core features inside GO Fast. It connects to your sim in real time and captures telemetry data from your sessions, giving you the tools to understand your pace, identify where you are losing time, and improve lap by lap.
What it does
During a session, Race Engineer records all the data your sim outputs, including throttle, brake, steering, speed, gear, tyre temperatures, tyre pressures, fuel level, and lap time. After each lap, this data is stored so you can review it in detail.
Lap comparison
You can compare any two laps side by side. The overlay view shows you exactly where on track the gaps appear, making it easy to spot differences in braking points, corner entry, and throttle application. This is one of the most effective ways to find time on track.
Compare with Pro reference laps
Race Engineer lets you compare your laps against reference laps from Pro GO Setups drivers. This gives you a clear benchmark to see where the fastest drivers are gaining time and how your driving compares. This feature is available to all users, including free accounts.
Session and lap export
You can export your session and lap data from Race Engineer. This is useful if you want to review your data externally or keep a record of your sessions. Export is available to all users, including free accounts.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards show your personal best lap times alongside the wider GO community. You can see where you rank on each track and car combination and track your improvement over time. Leaderboards require an active subscription.
Stint tracking
Race Engineer tracks your stints automatically. It logs fuel consumption per lap, tyre degradation trends, and session progress so you can review your performance over a full run.
Works with Setup Optimiser
Race Engineer works alongside Setup Optimiser. After using Setup Optimiser to get setup change suggestions, you can use Race Engineer's lap comparison to verify whether those changes improved your driving by comparing laps before and after the adjustment.
Free and paid features
Some Race Engineer features, such as comparison with Pro reference laps and session export, are available to all users. Others, including full telemetry, lap comparison, stint tracking, and leaderboards, require an active subscription. See Subscription Plans Overview for a full breakdown of what is included in each plan.
Requirements
Race Engineer requires your sim to have telemetry output enabled. See Setting Up Telemetry to make sure everything is configured.
