Before Race Engineer can record your session data, your sim needs to have telemetry set up correctly. This is a one time setup for each sim you use.
iRacing
iRacing requires telemetry logging to be enabled. You can do this in two ways:
Option 1: In session. Press ALT+L while in the sim to activate telemetry logging. You will need to do this each time you enter a session.
Option 2: Enable it permanently. Open your iRacing app.ini file (found in your Documents/iRacing folder) and set irsdkLog to 1. This enables telemetry logging automatically every time you launch iRacing, so you do not need to press ALT+L each session.
Once telemetry logging is active, open GO Fast and Race Engineer will connect automatically.
Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC)
ACC needs the correct install path set during the GO Fast configuration wizard. This allows GO Fast to set up the telemetry plugins in game automatically. If you need to change the install path later, you can update it in GO Fast settings under game install paths.
Le Mans Ultimate (LMU)
Like ACC, LMU needs the correct install path set during the GO Fast configuration wizard so the telemetry plugins and folder settings are configured correctly. If you change the install path location later, use the refresh button in the LMU settings to reset the telemetry settings and plugin.
