If GO Fast Race Engineer is not detecting your Le Mans Ultimate (LMU) session, follow this step-by-step guide to verify your configuration and ensure everything is installed correctly.
These checks solve 99% of detection issues, especially on new installations or after game updates.
1. Confirm Your LMU Install Path in GO Fast
Before starting, close LMU completely.
- Open the GO Fast.
- Go to Settings → Game Paths → LMU.
-
Verify that the path ends with:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\SettingsIf this path is incorrect, update it manually.
If the path is correct, click Refresh next to the field.
Why this matters: GO Fast reads session data and plugin settings from this exact folder. Any deviation, even a missing "player" folder, prevents detection.
2. Verify Required LMU Files and Folders
These files allow GO Fast to communicate with LMU. Missing or misplaced files will prevent session detection.
a. Check LMU Plugins Folder
Navigate to:
Le Mans Ultimate\PluginsConfirm that the file GOFastMemoryMap.dll is present.
- If this file is missing, reinstall the LMU plugin via GO Fast settings (Step 1).
b. Check Plugin Variables File
Navigate to:
Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\playerVerify that CustomPluginVariables.json exists and that it matches below settings.
This file stores LMU plugin activation settings, without it, LMU will not send telemetry to GO Fast.
3. Install All Runtime Dependencies
Navigate to:
Le Mans Ultimate\Support\RuntimesRun every installer in that folder:
- Visual C++ Redistributables
- .NET runtimes
- Any additional packages included with LMU
Missing runtimes are one of the most common causes of plugins failing to load.
