GO Setups uses a consistent naming convention across all supported sims. The letters in a setup name tell you exactly what the setup is built for.
Q and R
Q stands for Qualifying. A Q setup is tuned for maximum single-lap pace at low fuel in optimal conditions. It prioritises peak grip and outright performance over consistency.
R stands for Race. An R setup is built for a full stint. It balances tyre management, fuel load handling, and mechanical stability so the car remains consistent as conditions change throughout the race.
For most race scenarios, start with the R setup. Switch to the Q setup only when doing a qualifying simulation at low fuel.
E and S
E stands for Esport. An E setup is tuned for competitive driving. It offers more aggressive balance and responsiveness, aimed at experienced drivers who want to extract the maximum from the car in organised competition.
S stands for Safe. An S setup is built for stability and forgiveness. It is a great starting point for drivers who prefer a more predictable car or who are still learning a track or vehicle. The Safe setup sacrifices a small amount of peak pace in favour of consistency and easier handling.
E and S variants are available for all supported games.
Other setup types
Endurance setups are available for LMU and iRacing. They are designed for long stint sessions that require overall stability and consistency across extended races with significant fuel burn and multiple tyre stints.
For ACC, additional setup types include Hybrid, LFM, and UKOG LFM setups. For details on what each type includes, see Which Setup Should I Use?.
Quick reference
Q = Qualifying (single lap, low fuel) | R = Race (full stint, consistent) | E = Esport (competitive, aggressive) | S = Safe (stable, forgiving)
